theater.prekariat
theater.prekariat founded by Adelheid Schulz and fine artist Viyki Turnbull, develops theatrical productions at the interface between theatre and fine art. With focus on the relationship between city-space-human, they question how humans are influenced by urban space and, inversely, in what sense human attitudes and habits form the space around us. They view space not as something static but rather as an active phenomenon and social product: space is constantly mediated in new ways by the people who are acting with and within it.
theater.prekariat work to expose and challenge subjective narratives that are stored in the space around us. Activities, narratives, pictures, objects and videos are installed and staged at the break line between documentary and fiction. Their approach is participative; the precarious nature of the practice lies in the risk around what happens when artists and actors of different backgrounds, languages and residence status work together.
